Not weird, just ahead of their time.
Tish and Snooky have been staunch animal rights activists since childhood. They stopped eating meat when they were in grade school - people thought they were weird. They rescued animals throughout their life and the Manic Panic shop was always full of critters. They have used their talent and celebrity status to organize numerous high profile events to benefit animals. Donating to various animal charities is a passion of theirs.
And when they began manufacturing their own Manic Panic hair color line you know darn well that they made sure the products be cruelty-free and Vegan!
In fact, Manic Panic has been awarded by PETA.
Animal charities are not the only passion of the sisters. They regularly donate to organizations dedicated to the fight against cancers: the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Joey Ramone Lymphoma Fund, Make A Wish, City of Hope, Beauty Bus. The list goes on.
Their Mother Estelle McInnes started the art therapy program at the prestigious NYC School for Visual Arts. Every year, her daughters sponsor a scholarship award in their mother’s name to a student in the art therapy program.
For years they have helped girls and women’s empowerment organizations like Women in the Making , Center for Women Enterprise, and Girl Scouts of America. Tish and Snooky are also staunch supporters of True Colors United that helps LGBTQ youth, co-founded by their pal Cyndi Lauper.
Loving, generous and grateful, Tish and Snooky do not take their incredible success for granted. Their Manic Panic business donates a minimum of 15% of its profits to charity. Last year these charities were the recipients:
American Breast Cancer Foundation, LetsGetReady.com, CANCERLAND, American Action Fund Queens United for Puerto Rico, Product Donation Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Make A Wish Foundation Australia, Make A Wish USA, City Harvest Support Connection, Pets Alive US Pets, Pets Alive Alive Puerto Rico, The Luz Foundation, Westchester Medical Center, Green Hand Action Foundation, Irish Arts Center, Beauty Bus, Coney Island Fundraiser, CKMS Blood Ball, PETA Fundraiser Adopt, A Dog Now, Apraxia Support, Penn Vet School Shelter, The Good Dog Foundation, End Abuse 4 Good, Visual Arts for Estelle Bellomo, Susan Love Research Foundation, Catskill Animal Sanctuary, Green Chimneys, Pancreatic Action Network, Children Incorporated, Meals on Wheels, Gods Love We Deliver, Project Hope for Puerto Rico, UNICEF, Howl NYC, True Color Funds, Children Hunger Relief Fund, CFC Loud N Clear Foundation, American Red Cross.
